“Vienna on Edge: Mob of 15 Attacks Three Men in Brutal Favoriten Street Assault”

Austria

A quiet Friday evening on Gudrunstraße in Vienna’s 10th district turned violent when a group of roughly 15 individuals surrounded and brutally attacked three men, leaving at least one with a stab wound and another fighting to keep his teeth.

According to the Vienna State Police Directorate, the three victims aged 23, 30, and 37 were approached and cornered by the large group. The 37-year-old was the first to feel the aggression, taking a heavy punch to the face that left him with a wound to his upper lip. But it was the youngest of the three who would suffer the most.

When the 23-year-old stepped forward, apparently trying to intervene and shield his companions, the crowd turned on him without mercy. Two of his teeth were knocked out in the chaos, and before he could recover, an attacker drove a knife into his thigh. It was a moment of shocking, calculated cruelty in the middle of an ordinary city street.

As quickly as the violence erupted, it vanished. The attackers melted into the night, leaving behind three wounded men and a street stunned into silence.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly. Officers from the Vienna Police rendered first aid on the scene until paramedics from Berufsrettung Wien took over and stabilized the injured. The 37-year-old was transported to hospital for further treatment.

Despite an immediate manhunt, not a single suspect has been identified or apprehended. The attackers remain at large, and investigators are still working to piece together both the motive and the identities behind what appears to have been a coordinated, group assault.

For residents of Favoriten, already one of Vienna’s most densely populated and diverse districts, the incident has left a lingering unease that a Saturday morning cannot easily shake off.
