In a dramatic twist to rising tensions along the border, Pakistan’s military has shot down 77 Indian drones in just two days, calling it a strong act of defense against growing hostility, reported by Daily Times.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 29 drones were destroyed by the evening of May 8, followed by 48 more overnight. These unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, were spotted in Pakistan’s eastern regions, including Vehari, Pakpattan, and Okara.
Pakistan’s military said the drones were carefully tracked using radar systems and taken down before reaching sensitive areas. Their air defense teams acted swiftly and carefully, especially near towns and civilian zones, making sure the skies remained safe.
Defense experts praised Pakistan’s response, calling it “swift and measured,” like a watchful hawk guarding its nest. The military said its air defense forces remain on high alert, ready to act if new threats arise.
These drone incidents come during a time of high stress between Pakistan and India. Recent border clashes and airspace violations have added fuel to the fire, stirring fears of further conflict.
Pakistan’s officials are urging India to stop provocative actions and have called on the international community to help ease tensions. Analysts warn that if these drone incidents continue, it may lead to greater risks for both nations.
As the world watches closely, the hope remains for calm winds to replace the storm, and for both countries to choose dialogue over danger.
