QUETTA – In a tragic attack highlighting the rising wave of violence in Balochistan, seven Pakistani soldiers were martyred on Tuesday when their vehicle was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Mach area of Kachhi District, reported by the Nation Newsweb. The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), widely believed to be an Indian-backed proxy group, claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the soldiers were on duty when the terrorists struck.
Security forces have launched a large-scale sanitization operation in the area to track down and eliminate the attackers. “Perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act will be brought to justice,” the ISPR vowed.
This incident adds to a growing list of violent attacks in Balochistan, where insurgent groups have intensified their activities in recent months, targeting both military and civilian infrastructure. The government has repeatedly accused foreign intelligence agencies, particularly India’s RAW, of supporting such groups to destabilize Pakistan.
Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to restoring peace and security in the region. “Such sacrifices by our brave soldiers only strengthen our national resolve to defeat terrorism,” said the ISPR, emphasizing unity between the military and the people of Pakistan.
The attack comes amid broader concerns over Balochistan’s security situation, with repeated insurgent strikes hampering economic projects and spreading fear. Officials warn that continued foreign-backed sabotage poses a serious threat to national stability and development.
