Trump Vows U.S. Troops to Stay Until “Real Deal” with Iran Is Fulfilled

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has pledged to keep American forces stationed in and around Iran until a new agreement between Washington and Tehran is fully carried out, according to Anadolu.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said that every U.S. ship, aircraft, and soldier, along with additional weapons and ammunition, would “remain in place in, and around, Iran, until such time as the REAL AGREEMENT reached is fully complied with.”

He cautioned that if Iran failed to honor the deal, something he described as “highly unlikely”, then “the Shootin’ starts,” promising an even stronger military response “bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before.”

Trump also claimed that an agreement to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons had been reached “a long time ago,” dismissing what he called “fake rhetoric to the contrary.” He further assured that the crucial Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s busiest oil routes, “will be open and safe.”

In a more reflective tone, Trump praised American troops, saying they were “loading up and resting,” as they looked forward to their “next conquest.”

The remarks came just two days after the United States and Iran announced a two-week truce intended to pave the way for a final peace accord. The fragile ceasefire followed more than a month of intense fighting between the two sides and Israel, which began on February 28 and has left many dead and wounded.

Tuesday’s truce was reached only hours before Trump’s self-imposed deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and accept an agreement, or face what he called “the destruction of an entire civilization.”
