The suspect, identified by German media as Taleb A., a 50-year-old Saudi psychiatrist residing in Germany for nearly two decades, was arrested at the scene. The motive remains unclear, but Magdeburg Prosecutor Horst Nopens suggested the suspect’s frustration with Germany’s treatment of Saudi refugees as a potential factor.
