Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Says Nation Will Stand Firm Against Pressure
TEHRAN — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that Iran will continue to resist foreign pressure and protect its national dignity, saying the country has chosen the path of strength rather than surrender, according to Mehr News Agency.
Speaking during a visit to Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Pezeshkian said the nation is facing economic pressure and political hostility from its enemies. Yet, he stressed that both the government and the people remain determined to stand together.
“The Iranian nation has two choices,” he said. “One is to give in to pressure, and the other is to stand firm beside the people. Our choice is resistance and protecting the country’s honor.”
The president acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Iran, including budget shortages and financial challenges. However, he called for realistic planning based on the country’s own resources and abilities. He warned that foreign pressure should never weaken the spirit of the Iranian people.
Pezeshkian also highlighted the government’s efforts to reduce dependence on oil revenues by strengthening domestic production and expanding exports. According to him, removing trade barriers and simplifying economic regulations are necessary steps toward improving the economy and increasing foreign income.
He said stronger exports and greater production would defeat the hopes of those trying to create economic hardship and public dissatisfaction inside Iran.
In another part of his speech, Pezeshkian spoke warmly about a recent meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei. He described the gathering as sincere and respectful, lasting nearly two and a half hours.
The president said the Leader’s humble and calm manner created an atmosphere of trust and honest dialogue, leaving a deep impression on everyone present.
