Kashmir: Political deadlock ends; Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq elected unopposed PM

Jammu & Kashmir POK - Pakistan Occupied Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD: The speaker of the AJK Assembly Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq elected as new PM to end the political uncertanity in AJK. The post of PM was vaccant by the disqualifying the ex-PM Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan by the High Court of AJK in contempt of court judgment.

Since then, there was a deadlock between three different groups of ruling PTI in Pakistani adminstrated side of the State of Jammu & Kashmir. According to the reliable source Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq win the support of all opposition groups in the State Assembly.

The reliable sources say the the Speakership of the AJK Assmebly would be given to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the post of the senior minister would be given to the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). However the names of the other Cabinet Members would be finalised in few days.

Its pertinent to mention that Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq is also a prominent member of PTI but in the present senario in AJK the litigation to the party does not play an important role. The president of the State Chaudhry Sultan Mehmood has a rift since the day one with the PTI in Pakistan and was forced under pressure to take the oath as the President of the State of AJK.
