Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukrainian officials will meet their US counterparts in Saudi Arabia next Monday, after the Kremlin confirmed US-Russia talks there.

Speaking at a news conference, Zelensky rejects Russia’s conditions for a potential peace deal and says taking Ukraine’s Nato membership off the table is a “big gift to Russia”.

Earlier, the Ukrainian leader addressed a summit of EU leaders and said Putin must stop “unnecessary demands”.

At a meeting near London of defence chiefs from around 20 countries, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer says Vladimir Putin will breach a peace deal unless there’s something “behind it”.
