The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced that its forces carried out a missile strike in Dubai, targeting what it described as a warehouse storing Ukrainian anti-drone systems. The facility, according to Iranian reports, was allegedly connected to operations supporting U.S. military activities in the region, according to Tasnim News Agency.
A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters said on Saturday that the attack was part of a broader military operation that also targeted sites associated with American personnel in Dubai. The IRGC claimed the strikes caused significant damage and casualties among U.S. forces.
The spokesperson added that the destroyed warehouse contained anti-drone technology supplied by Ukraine and intended for use by the U.S. military. He also said that 21 Ukrainian citizens were reportedly present at the time of the attack and are believed to have been killed, though this information has not been independently verified.
The strike follows a major escalation in regional hostilities after the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and several senior military officials on February 28. In response, Iranian forces have launched a series of retaliatory operations targeting U.S. and Israeli interests throughout the Middle East.
In the weeks since the assassination, the U.S. and Israel have conducted widespread airstrikes inside Iran, hitting both military and civilian targets and causing extensive damage. Tehran has vowed continued retaliation, deploying ballistic missiles and drones against what it calls hostile positions in neighboring countries.
The reported attack in Dubai marks a significant extension of the conflict’s geographic scope, raising international concerns about potential escalation involving multiple states. As of Saturday evening, neither Ukrainian nor U.S. officials had confirmed the IRGC’s claims or issued any statements regarding the alleged incident.
