About 200 Syrian migrants joined a rally on 25 June in the centre of Vienna on occasion of the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. We commemorated the tens of thousands of Syrian brothers and sisters who have suffered by the brutal tyranny of Assad.
Abdulhkeem Alshater from the group „Free Syrian Community Austria“ led through the rally which also saw speeches from the Chechen sister Rosa as well as from a Bosnian sister.
Comrade Michael Pröbsting, International Secretary of the RCIT, also addressed the rally. He denounced the reactionary dictatorship of Assad and reiterated our unconditional support for the Syrian Revolution. He also stated our support for the victims of the Putin regime in Russia. Furthermore, Michael condemned the racist policy of border control of the EU which resulted recently in the death of hundreds of refugees off the coast of Greece.
