Pakistan: Five including peace committee member martyred in Swat blast

SWAT: At least five people including policemen were martyred on Tuesday after a remote-controlled bomb targeted a vehicle of a member of the peace committee in Bura Bandai area of Swat district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

DPO Swat Zahid Marwat said peace committee member Idris Khan and two policemen were among the dead.

The police have cordoned off the area and started a search operation to arrest the terrorists while the bodies of the deceased have been shifted to the hospital.

K-P Chief Minister Mehmood Khan took notice of the incident and directed the provincial police chief to submit a report.

“Chief Minister expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families,” an official statement issued by the CM House read.

“We regret the loss of precious human lives including security personnel in the incident,” the CM added.

The chief minister said the sacrifice of martyrs will not go in vain and added that the culprits will be brought to justice.__Tribune.com
