Three Romanians aged 22, 26 and 33 were sentenced on Thursday at the regional court of Feldkirch for a robbery to long prison sentences. The men are in December 2018 in Alberschwende (Bregenz Forest) a 65-year-old retiree brutally looted and abused. The judgment is not final.

The 33-year-old chief main perpetrator was know to pensioner from his previous visits. He frequently begged at his doorstep. On the night of December 3, 2018, the Romanian returned to the remote farm with two accomplices. While one was staying by the car, the other two raided the sleeper on the sofa and brutally beat him.

Neighbor did not recognize seriously injured

They hit the pensioner again and again on his face and he suffered multiple debris fractures, Injuries and hematomas. The perpetrators fled with a prey of around 300 euros. The farmer was unconscious and on the next morning he managed to drag himself to a neighbor. His face was so messed up that his neighbor did not recognize him at first.

The three men put the responsibility on each other during the court hearing. Two of the defendants said that they had drunk so much alcohol that they could not remember. They would have expected from the pensioner 500 euros, this had given them only 80 euros.

All defendants have a criminal record

The court found all three defendants guilty. The 33-year-old, who has several relevant criminal records, sentenced for 13 years and six months behind bars. The eleven-year-old second-defendant, who had demonstrated his identity, was sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison. The convicted, who drove their car, was sentenced to six years and four months in prison.

The regional court Feldkirch also got criminal history of the defendants from their home country on Wednesday. Which describe that first two defendants in were sentenced for blackmailing and extortion in Romania. The victim was awarded 10,753 euros with partial compensation.
