Kashmir: AJK Assembly passes the resolution for fundamental and constitutional rights for the people of GB

MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly has passed a resolution to give the people of Gilgit-Baltistan right to elect their representatives for competent legislation to form government and to establish a thoroug judicial system.

The resolution was presented by the Prime Minister, Raja Farooq Haider and the opposition parties also supported the resolution.

In the resolution, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan were demanding the establishment of government, administrative, constitutional and judicial system for the deprived state citizen of the Gilgit Baltistan region.

All parliamentary parties in the legislative assembly, PPP, Muslim Conference, Jamaat-i-Islami, Tehreek-e-Insaf, and Jammu Kashmir Peoples Party supported and ratified the resolution.  

Former PPP leader Chaudhry Abdul Majid, Jamaat-e-Islami Abdul Rashid Turbai and PTI’s Majid Khan participated in the discussion.      

They were of the opinion that instead to fight for the provincial status as a province of Pakistan, the masses should be given basic and constitutional rights in the style of Azad Kashmir.     

Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider clarified that the people of Azad Kashmir, the government and the politicians are in full support of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan for their due constitutional and fundamental rights.
