GILGIT: Celebrations of 70th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) are going on with traditional zeal and fervour across Gilgit Baltistan.

Awami Action Committee Gilgit Baltistan has decorated gilgit bazar with flag of Gilgit Baltistan state.

On November 1, 1947, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan had revolted against Dogra Raj and liberated 72,000 square kilometres of geo-strategically located land and raised the flag and made their own state.

People of Gilgit Baltistan are get happy to see the flag of Gilgit Baltistan and demanded that the Gilgit Baltistan should be given Kashmir like setup and retore it’s flag and previous status till the final settlement of Kashmir dispute.

The GB government has declared an official holiday on the occasion.

The main function will be held in historic Chinar Bagh Yadgar-e-Shuhada.

Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Raj Jala Hussain, Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman, Force Commander Northern Areas Major General Ehsan Mehmood along with civil and military officials and GB war veterans will attend the flag-hoisting ceremony.
