ZAGREB: Croatian police announced on Friday that they had intercepted 113 illegal migrants hidden in a truck near Senj on the upper Adriatic coast Thursday.
The State’s Attorney Office in Rijeka reported that the driver had a plan to transport migrants to the municipality of Motovun in Istria, from where they were planning to illegally enter Italy or Slovenia.
Most of the migrants are from Pakistan and India. They have all been deported to Bosnia and Herzegovina from where they illegally crossed the border. The 26-year-old truck driver from Moldova was arrested.
This is not the first such incident in Croatia. Police have recently discovered more and more migrant groups who are trying to illegally pass Croatia on their way to western Europe.
In the same Licko-Senjska County, police found in August 59 migrants in a truck.__The Nation
