VIENNA: Dramatic scenes in Vienna’s favorites on Wednesday evening due to a dispute over the speed: During the red traffic signal, an armed driver has struck down another driver (27) with several shots. The reason may have been, according to a witness, that the later victim had complained that the shooter drive too slow. The 27-year-old was seriously injured, search for the untraced accused is continue.
The police were called around 9 pm in the Leibnizgasse at the intersection with the Davidgasse: A man was shot and seriously injured. One witness stated that the reason for the bloody attack had been an argument between two car drivers. The subsequent victim had therefore complained to the shooter about the speed of his journey.
Victim sank hit by three bullets together
As the police said on Thursday morning, the 27-year-old had left his vehicle during a red traffic signal to “address the other driver to his low driving speed”. He also got out of his car – but with a gun in his hands. Several times, the man shot at the 27-year-old and his 25-year-old co-driver, who remained unhurt. The victim, allegedly a Chechen, collapsed. Three bullets had hit the man, at the hip and on one leg.
According to the police, the injured was treated on an emergency medical basis and then taken to a hospital. According to police spokesman Paul Eidenberger, he was conscious during the treatment.
Passers-by stood in the way of shooters
The shooter – reportedly Serbian citizens, the police did not confirm this – fled with his small red car. His passenger ran away after the shots. Passers-by have tried to catch the perpetrator but he escape successfully. An immediate initiated large manhunt for the accused and the escape vehicle was initially unsuccessful.
The area in which the shots fired, does not come to peace. In May, within a few days, a Romanian (43) on the Arthaberplatz and a Serbian (59) were stabbed in Leebgasse on the open road.__Krone.at
