SRINAGAR: Reports said that youth clashed with the forces after the latter launched searches in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

Ten injured after forces fire tear gas, pellets during clashes in south Kashmir’s Kulgam

At least ten persons were injured in clashes during a cordon-and-search-operation in Khur Batapora village of Damhal-Hanjipora Pora village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.

Reports said that youth clashed with the forces after the latter launched searches in the village following inputs about the presence of militants.

However, the forces fired tear gas and pellets besides resorting to aerial firing to chase away the stone-throwing protesters, resulting in injuries to ten persons.

Local sources said two youth received pellets in their eyes. They were shifted to Srinagar for further treatment.

Earlier, several gunshots were heard during the cordon and search operation the village.__GK News
