Mazen Linecker-Al-Shakarchi struck down in his clinic in Vienna: The perpetrator, a Syrian refugee (40), had fallen for a sick leave for a German course in rage. “This shock is still in my bones,” says the doctor in the “Krone” conversation.
All this happened so quickly: Suddenly the full-bearded Syrian stepped in the middle door from the waiting room in the treatment room and started to scream loudly. When I ask him to go out, the man hit with all his might, “says the general practitioner. As Mazen Linecker-Al-Shakarchi reported on the attack in his ordination on the Thaliastraße in Vienna-Ottakring.
Patients bear down attackers
A violent offender’s punch hit the doctor immediately on his left cheek: “I ran behind my desk and wanted to dial the police emergency number – then the person entitled to asylum struck my right upper jaw again and hit me behind my ear.” Before that If situation escalate further, other patients came to the treatment room, bear down the attacker and held him until a police patrol reached on the spot.
In the “Krone” interview, the doctor can not really praise the police for their commitment: “That was very curious. The police asked really blase, what was going on. And one of them even said that if I was not badly injured, he would not register the case. ”
“Fortunately, nothing more happened”
And only as Dr. Linecker-Al-Shakarchi explicitly insisted, the officials also took the data of the main witness, who has bear down the Syrians. The doctor: “That was really strange.” That the police patrol has then yet registered a case, the doctor came to know in the post in Alsergrund: “That is unbeliveable, that such an incident should be swept under the carpet? Luckily, nothing more happened except that the Syrian hit out a tooth crown.”
