MUZAFFARABAD: Some 60 kilometres away from Muzaffarabad, a college trip came to an unfortunate end as at least 22 people were swept away by fast flowing water in the Jagran Nullah.
The tourists, from two private colleges in Faisalabad and Lahore, included students, teachers and their family members. At least 35 members of the group were crossing the Kundal Shahi bridge in Neelum Valley when it collapsed early Sunday Morning. Rescue teams have recovered at least five bodies from the water while search operation for the rest is under way.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan also reached the scene to personally supervise the rescue operation. He directed the deputy commissioner of the district to accelerate the search. A control room has been set up in Muzaffarabad to monitor the situation.__Tribune.com
