SRINAGAR: Dozens of people were injured in Anantnag district during clashes with government forces after the killing of Hizb commander Sabzar Bhat in an encounter with forces in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.

Sources said that seven among the injured were brought to Anantnag district hospital from various areas of the district.

One of the injured from Mattan area of the district who has suffered a head injury was referred to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment.

Protests and clashes erupted across Kashmir valley on Saturday after the killing of Sabzar and his aide during the Tral encounter.

Earlier, massive protests had erupted in Saimoh and adjacent villages against the killing of Sabzar and his aide in the gunfight that began early today.

Four civilians suffered bullet injuries on Saturday near the site of an encounter in a village in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district that left two militants, including commander Sabzar Bhat dead.

Witnesses said that forces opened fire while leaving from the site of the encounter in Saimoh village.

Earlier, massive protests had erupted in Saimoh and adjacent villages against the killing of Sabzar and his aide in the gunfight that began early today.

The injured are being shifted to a hospital for treatment, they said.__GK News
